Instagram is experimenting with a functionality enabling users to entirely revamp their suggested content. This recommendation reset tool will be "universally deployed shortly," per Meta's statement, and can be used to purge the algorithmically curated material presently shown in Feeds, Explore, and Reels. This new capability will be accessible to all users, encompassing Teen accounts. Meta stated, "Our aim is to ensure every Instagram user – particularly teens – enjoys secure, upbeat, and suitably mature experiences and perceives their Instagram usage as worthwhile." They added, "We aim to provide adolescents with novel methods to mold their Instagram experience so it consistently mirrors their evolving passions and interests."
According to Meta, clearing recommendations requires only “a few quick taps,” and will "gradually resume personalization" contingent on subsequent user interactions with accounts and content. Users can also examine their current follow list during the reset to determine whether to unfollow accounts, thus guiding the formation of fresh recommendations.
